Technology has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 30 to 40 years. The first gadget which took baby steps around 30 year and has transformed life throughout the world is computer. Remember the days when for performing simple functions like addition and subtraction we either used adding and subtracting machines or we had no other option but to do it manually. The arrival of computer changed the whole concept of performing simple and repetitive task a much easier job.
This was just the beginning of the computer’s stride in human life. Slowly but steadily it started entering into every aspect of human life and today it has become an indispensable part of human life. Be it typing a letter, be it performing complex calculations, be it making a presentation to your boss, or be it arranging, sorting and managing huge amount of data, life without computer has become unthinkable. Use of computers is only limited by our imagination.
Booking railway ticket, withdrawing money from ATM, performing complex medical surgeries, tracking your child’s movement while going to school, you name it every thing is possible only with the help of computers. Along with computers one more invention which has also changed the world once for all is without doubt the internet and mobile telephones. Internet in combination with computers is redefining life almost everyday. There are however some problems which also have grown alongside the growth of internet.
Listening to music, watching movies on the internet and computers have never been so easy and all these is possible only because of man’s quest to grow materially, emotionally and grow in terms of intelligence. In conclusion we can confidently claim that computer and internet of two perfect examples of technology reaching the people at the lowest level. We have still a long way to go before the real benefits of these two technologies are felt by all classes of people.
